Career Seekers Frequently Asked Questions
Where/how do I register?
Fill out a our AppleXpress, On-line Application at your convenience.
How do I cancel/reschedule my appointment?
To reschedule, simply log-in to the AppleXpress system. If you want to change your appointment date, select "Appointment Day" from the left navigation menu and enter a new day. If you want to reschedule for a different time on the same day, select "Appointment Time" from the left navigation menu and enter a new time.
If you want to cancel your interview, or if you are rescheduling your appointment within 1 business day of your originally schedule appointment, you can call the branch to let them know, Find Local Branch Contact Information here.
I'm having trouble logging in, how do I do it?
To login, you first must have created a user in the AppleXpress Application System. If you haven't already created a user, the Create a User Now.
If you've already created a user, then to sign back into the AppleXpress system, you would go to the login page and enter the user name (probably your e-mail address) and password you selected when you created a user in the system. If you don't remember the password you selected, there is a form at the bottom of that page where you can ask the system to e-mail you your password.
If you've created a user, and are attempting to login, and it's still not working for you, please make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser. Cookies must be enabled in order to proceed past the login screen.
I forgot my password--do you have it?
For security purposes, we are not able to access your password for you. However, there is a form at the bottom of the login page where you can have the web site send you your password. It can only send your password to the e-mail address you used when you created a user, so that address must be valid in order to retrieve a lost or forgotten password.
I'm relocating--how do I register with an office near to my destination?
If you've already entered your information into Xpress, you don't need to enter it again. Simply log-in to the AppleXpress system. From there, click on the "Office Location" link from the left navigation and select an office near your new zip code. Be sure to continue through the application to select a new appointment date and a new appointment time.
It would also be a good idea to call the branch to make sure they see your "rescheduled" appointment. You can find Local Branch Contact Information here.
Do you offer opportunities to overseas candidates?
No. Unfortunately, at this time, AppleOne can only provide employment services to individuals who are authorized to work in the United States or Canada, and who are able to get to a local branch office for an interview.
Do you offer work from home opportunities?
At this time we do not have opportunities like that.
What does AppleOne's Service cost?
AppleOne's services are completely free to you, the candidate.
How does AppleOne make money?
The companies you go to work for pay AppleOne for our services.
If companies have to pay you, doesn't that mean I could make more money on my own?
No. The money AppleOne makes doesn't come out of your salary. It comes out of the other costs employers face when hiring. Costs such as Advertising and Recruitment, Workers Compensation Insurance, the Employer Contribution to Social Security, Lost Time Interviewing and Reviewing Resumes. Over and above what an employer pays the employee, it actually costs anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000 to hire somebody. Because of our economies of scale, AppleOne can do these things cheaper and more efficiently than a typical employer and they pay us for the money and time we save them.
In fact, it has been our experience that you would make less money on your own because our professional Account Executives act as your agent to negotiate the highest level of pay possible.
Aren't all employment services the same?
No. AppleOne is very different. We are one of the few services who can offer you both permanent and temporary placements. More than that, we are the only service that understands that you are every bit as important as employer companies to our success. Because it is the employer company that pays for an employment agency's services, most agencies view them as the client. If you've been to other employment services then the poor way they treated you starts to make sense once you understand how they actually see you.
At AppleOne, we know that is absolutely wrong. You are a unique individual, and satisfying your needs is just as important as satisfying the needs of the companies that pay us. Our goal is to keep you as a client for life, and as a client, we treat you with the respect you deserve.
What kinds of jobs are available?
We place thousands of candidates every week, and naturally some of our employer companies do have currently open positions that we are attempting to fill. However, that's not the end of our service to you. After all, you are also one of our clients, and you probably have a dream job that you would like to find. Once we understand what your needs are, we will go out and attempt to find or create a situation in which those needs will be satisfied. This is what makes us different from any of the other services out there.
How much will I make?
That depends on a wide number of factors including what you want to do, how marketable your skills are, the region of the country you live in and any number of other unique variables. Your local Account Executive can help you evaluate your earning potential more thoroughly.
How do I get paid?
That depends on the type of placement. If you are hired by one of our employer companies in a permanent position (what we call a direct hire placement), you get your pay cheques and benefits from them just like anybody else.
If you go out on a temporary assignment, then you are on the AppleOne payroll. We have weekly paydays, which means that for extended assignments you can expect to get a cheque every Friday. You may stop by the branch office where you registered to pick up your cheque, or instruct us to mail it to you.
What if I want the freedom temporary assignments afford, but I need benefits?
AppleOne provides its Temporary Associates with a complete menu of benefits including:
- Medical Plan
- Dental Plan
- Vision Plan
- Associate of the Month - An honor that can earn you extra cash and recognition!
- The Core - A newsletter filled with current news and helpful hints.
