A History of Innovation and Service

  • Developed Many Services to Accommodate Client Needs
  • Harnessed the Internet in Powerful Ways
  • Introduced Unrivalled Investment Protection

When AppleOne first opened its doors in 1964, it was a small business facing much larger and better-established competitors. Founder Bernie Howroyd knew that to attract and keep candidates and clients, he had to be more committed, more innovative and more results-driven than the competition. This underdog mindset became part of the company's culture, what we now call the AppleOne Experience.

The first-ever AppleOne office was located in Los Angeles California's Wilshire District, and initially, it provided a range of services that were very similar to its neighboring staffing agencies. In 1967, Bernie tried to find a way to make job searches faster for candidates and hiring much-needed people more flexible and more efficient for employers. This led to AppleOne's offering Temporary Staffing Services, which put AppleOne on the map as an industry innovator.

As popular as Temporary Staffing became, more and more candidates were looking for the stability of full-time work. Since Bernie always saw candidates as the center of AppleOne's universe, he devised a process that would create a win-win situation for both job-seekers and employers: Temp-to-Hire gave the employers an opportunity to evaluate employees before making a hiring decision while allowing applicants to earn a living while striving for full-time employment. Since each candidate was carefully pre-qualified prior to being assigned to the client, the matches were often successful with both the employer and employee benefiting from their AppleOne partnership.

Unrivalled Investment Protection

In addition to various Internet tools, AppleOne also introduced many firsts in terms of how we provide services and results.

As ground-breaking as they may sound, all of AppleOne's innovations can be traced back to the company's humble beginnings: attracting and keeping great people and great companies by providing them with services and solutions that are better than the rest.
