We are currently hiring for a Loss and Prevention specialist in Mississauga

8am-5pm
$22.00/hr

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of loss and prevention within a warehouse environment
• Doing security checks on trailers with an x-ray machine – 10-15lbs
• Experience with Trucking software ie Truckmate
• Great attention to detail
• Not bus accessible, need to have a car


Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Required
• Post-Secondary education required
• A learner for life, efficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and report writing
• Attention to detail, observation skills, ability to follow protocols and prioritize
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Knowledge of TMW (Truckmate) and other operating systems is an asset
• Problem-solving skills to develop effective plans, standards, and procedures
• Drives and influences others with respect to security and vigilance
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
• Clean criminal background


Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring freight security, compliance with industry safety standards, and accurate document management. This role includes monitoring, training, and collaborating with regulatory agencies to maintain a secure and efficient operation, ensuring alignment with health and safety policies and CTPAT/PIP best practices.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Conduct security checks on freight using X-ray equipment, maintaining detailed logs, and escalating issues as needed.
• Monitor and analyze applications like Shiplify and TMW for suspicious activity, providing timely communication and recommendations.
• Conduct internal and external facility inspections and audits, ensuring CTPAT/PIP compliance.
• Review new customer security applications and manage high-risk listings.
• Examine and validate Gate Pass documents and Visitor Logs for accuracy.
• Lead or participate in CTPAT/PIP audits and ensure compliance with program standards.
• Ensure daily availability of trip envelopes, seals, and seal cards in the supply room, replenish as needed, and notify the supervisor if supplies run low.
• Collect, sort, and validate trip records, including seals and paperwork, for each driver; report discrepancies, attach correction notes for mismatches, and dispose of used seals as per policy.
• Scan, file, and organize trip documents, maintain accurate master records for seals and odometer readings, and archive or dispose of old records as per policy.
• Perform daily dock checks (electronic and written) in OS&D areas, identifying freight movement issues, potential damages from insufficient packaging, and documenting findings.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely movement of freight.
• Crosstrain in other Risk Management areas and coach team members on identifying suspicious freight.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
