Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

Vancouver based company is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator. This is a fully in office role, based Downtown.
This role is for 3 to 4 days per week (21 to 28 hours per week)
Pay rate: $30-40/hr

Job responsibilities:
• Administration of payroll for up to 200 employees
• Produce payroll and HR reports following each pay cycle
• Reconcile payroll and benefits for accounting, for payment processing
• Conduct orientation meetings new staff hires including signing up new staff on all benefits
• Administration of benefits for staff
• Manage all aspects of organizations benefit programs including enrollment, changes and terminations for all eligible members and, setup on payroll as required
• Communicate all benefit changes, e.g. rate increases and enhancements to any benefits to staff
• RRSP (staff) - oversee the plan from enrolment, changes to termination and setup of contributions via payroll
• Prepare salary, bonus, benefits and service awards budgets for HR Manager
• Answer queries and assist l staff with various benefit and payroll inquiries and implement any changes
• Year-end processing including T-4’s, T4A’s and T2200s for CRA and ADP
• Prepare final pay and exit documentation for departing employees (terminations, resignations, maternity and parental leaves) and Record of Employment forms, as required
• Conduct exit interviews
• Update HRIS and ADP systems with information for new and current employees
• Providing general support to HR
• Other duties associated to HR, as needed

Qualifications required:

• 6 + years of full-cycle Canadian payroll and benefits administration experience
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation an asset
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience using payroll software, time and attendance systems, and HRIS systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now an asset
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines while dealing with frequent interruptions.
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in working with employee information.
• Knowledge of the methods, practices, and procedures employed in the preparation and processing of payrolls.
• Knowledge of legislation, rules and regulations affecting payroll including taxation, employment standard, WCB, EI, etc
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
