What You'll Do:?

With support of the Senior Category Director act as a key member of the team to development and execute end-to-end merchandising strategies rooted in the 4 pillars of merchandising including: product assortment, retail pricing, promotional activity and placement, while delivering on KPI requirements for Sales, Margin and Tonnage.
Support the Senior Category Director in assortment optimization analysis, planogram design, pricing, and in-store merchandising strategies working in coordination with Associate Merchants, Space Planners, and Supply Chain colleagues.
Develop promotional programs from end-to-end, including product selection and forecasting, financial impact analysis, pricing decisions, vendor engagement, flyer, and digital content, and evaluate program success.
Set and achieve goals, working united with various colleagues in merchandising, operations, control brands, supply chain, loyalty, e-commerce, marketing, media, and other divisions.
Negotiate and build positive relationships with category vendors and external partners to deliver meaningful customer programs that drive tonnage and sales, while delivering on margin.
Use data and analytics to build strategic plans that best serve customers, and that achieve intended financial outcomes.
Research the competitive landscape and understand industry benchmarking standards on pricing, assortment, merchandising, promotional activity and more.
Provide support by handling the financial performance for the category (profit and loss) and driven health of the category (market share performance.)
Lead and assist vendor program meetings and product costing debates. Play an active role in leading vendors’ financial performance and product assortment.
Evaluate new product and/or platform innovation and work with our control brand team on product innovation and program development for our private labels.
Collaborating with support teams to analyze promotional and pricing optimization tools.

What You'll Need:?

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in retail merchandising
A curious and bold mindset that challenges the status quo.
At least two year’s experience as a merchant/buyer, in retail sales, or merchandising.
Ability to innovate, influence others, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute strategies.
Analytical approach and experience using data to make decisions.
Financial, business and retail knowledge. Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and confidence working with various software platforms.
Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate story clearly.
Critical thinking and ability to problem solve with incomplete data.
