We are currently seeking a Bid Lead to join our Engineering & Design team.
The Bid Lead is responsible for managing the full bid and proposal process, from initial review of tender documents through to final submission. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to develop competitive and compliant bids. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth by ensuring high-quality, timely, and accurate bid submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end bid process including review, coordination, and submission of proposals
Analyze tender documents, contracts, drawings, and specifications
Prepare and organize complete bid submissions in accordance with client requirements and deadlines
Develop accurate cost estimates and adjust pricing based on scope, labour, and material changes
Coordinate input from engineering, operations, procurement, and project teams
Compare and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
Develop project schedules and timelines to support bid submissions
Conduct site visits and review project scope as required
Manage and track bids using online tendering platforms and internal tracking systems
Write, review, and edit proposal content for accuracy, compliance, and clarity
Conduct market research to support competitive bidding strategies
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients
Support administrative tasks related to bidding and proposal documentation
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in estimating, bid coordination, or proposal management
Experience in utility infrastructure, electrical construction, transmission, distribution, or telecommunications considered an asset
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Bluebeam
Experience with estimating or bid management software and tendering platforms
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is an asset
