Job Summary
We are seeking an Inventory Cycle Counter for a temporary opportunity in Barrie, ON within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented inventory professional who enjoys working with data accuracy, warehouse operations, cycle counting, and cross-functional communication.
As an Inventory Cycle Counter, you will help maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular stock counts, investigating discrepancies, and supporting reconciliation activities. You will work closely with material handlers, team leaders, supervisors, and material planners in a structured environment where accuracy, teamwork, and operational consistency are highly valued.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with RF scanner experience, forklift certification, and a commitment to keeping inventory processes organized, accurate, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inventory cycle counts, stock takes, and year-end physical inventory activities.
- Identify, investigate, and reconcile inventory discrepancies according to approved policies and procedures.
- Follow the approved cycle counting schedule to ensure variances are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Communicate with material handlers, team leaders, supervisors, and material planners regarding material location, status, and issue scheduling.
- Identify parts using drawings, descriptions, and part numbers to support accurate inventory verification.
- Maintain organized records of cycle count findings, discrepancies, and inventory issues for future reference.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $23.75 per hour.
- Salary range provided: $49,400.00 to $50,440.00 per year.
- Job type:3 month contract potential to be extended
- Location: Barrie, ON.
Additional Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Perform cycle counts and stock takes to verify inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Use RF scanning equipment and computerized inventory systems to support inventory control.
- Operate forklift equipment when required to access inventory for counting.
- Completion of OSSD or equivalent is required.
- 1 to 2 years of experience working as a cycle counter using an RF scanner is required.
- 2 or more years of forklift driving experience is required.
- Valid forklift certification is required, including narrow aisle reach and counterbalance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read drawings, descriptions, and part numbers to identify inventory accurately.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Ability to follow procedures and work in a controlled, consistent, and safety-focused manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Materials Management course is considered an asset.
- Experience with a computerized inventory system is considered an asset.
- D365 experience is considered an asset.
