Job Summary

We are seeking a MIG Welder for a direct hire opportunity in Holland Landing, ON. The MIG Welder will weld and fit custom components, read shop drawings, and work with a skilled production team to complete accurate, high-quality fabrication projects. Key Responsibilities

- Perform MIG welding and fitting on heavy steel components and custom fabricated assemblies.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication diagrams to complete work accurately.
- Fit components together and prepare materials for welding according to job specifications.
- Use hand tools, torches, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect finished work to ensure weld quality, accuracy, and compliance with required standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all shop safety procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Pay rate: $26 to $30 per hour based on experience, including premium rate.
- Wage increase after 3 months.
- Afternoon shift starting at 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.
- Must be available to train from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform MIG welding and fitting on structural and custom steel components.
- Interpret shop drawings, weld diagrams, and fabrication drawings to guide daily work.
- Use hand tools, torches, and fabrication equipment to complete assigned projects.
- Support quality, safety, and production goals in a fabrication shop environment.

- Previous MIG welding experience required. Welding school or apprenticeship experience will be considered.
- 1 to 2 years of welding experience preferred, with experience as a Welder/Fitter considered an asset.
- Ability to produce quality welds with minimal supervision.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings.
- Experience in a heavy steel fabrication, machining, or assembly environment is an asset.
- Must provide and maintain a personal welding helmet.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Dependable, punctual, safety conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with structural steel.
- CWB certification or welding tickets.
- Overhead crane and rigging experience.
- TSSA tickets.
- Two or more years of experience as a Welder/Fitter working on custom components.
