Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Set Up Technician for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in a fast-paced food and beverage production manufacturing environment in Aurora, Ontario. This role is ideal for an injection molding professional who is confident setting up machines, performing mold changes, troubleshooting process issues, and supporting efficient production on rotating continental shifts.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, start, and adjust injection molding machines for scheduled production runs.
- Complete mold changes, insert changes, and related tooling setup activities.
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, long gates, warping, witness marks, cloudiness, and other quality concerns.
- Identify and communicate machine, tooling, or mold issues to maintenance teams and shift supervisors.
- Maintain, handle, and store molds, tooling, and related equipment properly and safely.
- Support shift communication, training, audits, investigations, safety procedures, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $35.00 to $37.00 per hour.
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent direct hire.
- Shift: 12-hour rotating continental shifts.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Set up and start injection molding equipment for production.
- Perform mold and insert changes while supporting efficient line changeovers.
- Troubleshoot molding process issues and make machine setting adjustments.
- Communicate technical issues across shifts to support production continuity.

- Minimum 5 years of injection molding technical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with injection molding machine setup and process troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, injection molding processes, and basic tooling.
- Ability to identify molding defects and make effective process adjustments.
- Crane and forklift certification required.
- High school diploma required.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a safety-first mindset.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, twist, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis.

Preferred Qualifications

- Technical or vocational education related to manufacturing, maintenance, tooling, or mechanical systems.
- Previous experience in a high-volume injection molding production environment.
- Experience supporting shift supervisors with training, audits, investigations, or continuous improvement initiatives.
