Job Summary
We are hiring a Material Handler for a direct hire opportunity in the Keele and Rutherford area. This role is ideal for an experienced forklift operator who is confident operating a Counterbalance forklift and enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
The Material Handler will support daily warehouse operations by moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, staging finished goods, and keeping product flow organized and efficient. Key Responsibilities
- Operate Counterbalance forklifts to move materials, products, and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently while ensuring proper handling of products.
- Move materials to production lines and stage finished products for storage or shipment.
- Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns as needed.
- Complete heavy lifting tasks up to 50 lbs while following all workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient warehouse operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $21.00 per hour.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Location: Keele and Rutherford area, L4K 5C2.
Additional Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Operate Counterbalance forklifts to support warehouse and production material flow.
- Load and unload trucks while maintaining safe handling practices.
- Stage materials for production lines and organize finished products.
- Track inventory and complete accurate order picking or material movement tasks.
- 2 to 3 years of experience operating a Counterbalance forklift.
- Valid forklift certification specifically for Counterbalance operation.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory tracking.
- Basic math skills for accurate order picking, inventory counts, and material handling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
- CSA-approved steel-toed safety shoes or boots and safety glasses required.
- Strong attention to safety, reliability, organization, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, production, shipping, or receiving environment.
- Experience staging materials for production lines or preparing finished goods for shipment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities.
