Our Brampton client is producer of high-quality desserts and treats. They are actively seeking a new Material planner to join their team! This position features:
• 3 weeks’ vacation
• 2 flex days, 3 sick days

Salary: $60,000-$80,000
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Responsibilities:
• Review daily Production schedule and maintain adequate levels of stock to meet daily production
• To review the Inventory forecast to ensure we have raw materials for two-week production plan
• Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of products are in stock
• Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between inventory count and Fishbowl records
• Maintain inventory levels of materials in plant areas for efficient storage and handling
• To be cost-conscious about the cost associate with the inventory.
• To perform inventory count on the warehouse.
• To work with inventory targets.
• Provide daily update to Management on any delivery status of any urgent items that will not be received on time for production.
• Prepare weekly expiration report for QA for disposition
• Provide incoming materials report to Receiving so they can prepare for receipt
• To create and place purchase orders within vendor required lead time and include required shelf life for product ordered
• Work with vendors making sure all items ordered will be received on time
• Any purchase that needs to be returned as well as defective or expired items inform QA and once a decision is made with QA and supplier follow up making sure they are returned or disposed
• Confirm purchase order with invoice making sure quantity and price is correct
• Conduct monthly inventory counts.
• CDC Reporting:
o Monthly reporting on usage and purchases of dairy ingredients
o Submitting applications for new products containing dairy ingredients
o Annual reconciliation based on usage and purchases of dairy ingredients
• Manual work on Excel and Fishbowl
• Miscellaneous duties as requested by management
Requirements:
• Ideally 4+ years experience in procurement or planning, within a food manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills; customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and problem solve
• Proficient in Excel – Intermediate level (formulas, charts, organize information, drop downs)
• Comfortable with manual work
• Must have their own vehicle to travel between locations on occasions
