About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Planner to join our team in Toronto. In this role, you will be responsible for executing supply planning activities to support manufacturing operations, ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and components.

You will collaborate closely with production, procurement, suppliers, and logistics teams to align material availability with production needs while maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing disruptions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute supply planning activities to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels
• Analyze forecasts and orders to develop material requirements and supply plans
• Create and manage purchase orders based on MRP outputs and production schedules
• Monitor supplier deliveries and pro actively expedite materials to avoid delays
• Identify and resolve material shortages, supply risks, and capacity constraints
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, procurement, and logistics teams
• Maintain accurate planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, etc.)
• Track and report delivery status to plant management
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning and inventory performance
• Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and excess reduction
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Qualifications:

Education:
College diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
APICS/CPIM, CSCMP, or similar certification is an asset

Experience:
• 3–7 years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, or manufacturing
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (Syspro experience is an asset)
• Experience with demand planning, inventory management, and supplier coordination
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
• Ability to interpret MRP outputs and demand trends
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, stamping, etc.)
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities
