Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON. This role is ideal for a skilled assembler with strong custom machine building experience, excellent blueprint reading ability, and a proven track record of producing high-quality mechanical assemblies within tight production timelines.

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling machinery, equipment, tooling, and mechanical sub-assemblies while working closely with supervisors, engineering, and shop team members. Key Responsibilities

- Assemble machinery, equipment, tooling, mechanical sub-assemblies, and main machine assemblies using blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
- Operate hand tools, portable power tools, measuring tools, forklifts, and cranes to complete assembly work safely and accurately.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly using sound problem-solving techniques and communicate concerns to supervisors or engineering.
- Inspect and test assemblies to ensure they meet drawing specifications, quality standards, and precise tolerance requirements.
- Provide feedback to engineering regarding drawing changes or assembly improvements identified during the build process.
- Maintain organized work areas, complete daily labour sheets accurately, meet production targets, and follow all health and safety procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $47,840 to $49,920 per year.
- Hourly rate: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Assemble custom machinery, tooling, and mechanical equipment from drawings, bills of material, and travelers.
- Troubleshoot mechanical sub-assemblies and main machine assemblies to support quality and on-time delivery.
- Operate forklifts and cranes to safely move heavy components and equipment.
- Inspect completed assemblies for conformance to specifications and quality requirements.

- 5 or more years of experience in new custom machine building.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
- Forklift and crane certification required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and production travelers.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, portable power tools, and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and produce quality assemblies with minimal or no rework.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, daily production targets, and milestone dates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and engineering staff.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including PPE use, equipment inspections, lockout procedures, and compliance with plant safety rules.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a custom equipment, machinery, automation, tooling, or precision manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement, organized workflow planning, and maintaining accurate production documentation.
- Proven ability to work independently while supporting a positive, team-focused shop environment.
