Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler for a direct hire opportunity in Scarborough, ON within a manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities

- Assemble machinery, equipment, tooling, sub-assemblies, and main machine assemblies using blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
- Operate hand tools, portable power tools, measuring tools, forklifts, and cranes to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during the assembly process and communicate required drawing or process updates to engineering and supervisors.
- Inspect and test completed assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Plan daily work, maintain an organized work area, meet production targets, and support shipping deadlines and milestone dates.
- Follow all health and safety policies, lockout procedures, equipment inspection requirements, PPE rules, and company procedures.

- Assemble mechanical equipment, tooling, machinery, and related components from technical drawings and production documentation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical sub-assemblies and main assemblies using practical problem-solving techniques.
- Inspect, test, and verify assemblies against drawings, specifications, and precise tolerance requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors, co-workers, and engineering staff to support quality, productivity, and on-time completion.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, production, or metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of material, travelers, and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency using hand tools, portable power tools, and precision measuring tools.
- Experience operating or assisting with forklifts and cranes to move heavy materials or equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely, follow lockout procedures, complete pre-use inspections, and comply with plant safety rules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to report issues, share updates, and work effectively with production and engineering teams.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage daily priorities while meeting production targets and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in automotive parts manufacturing, machinery assembly, tooling, metal fabrication, or custom equipment manufacturing.
- Forklift or crane operating experience in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with quality inspection practices and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
