Job Summary

We are recruiting a Red Seal Millwright, 433A Licensed Industrial Millwright, for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a well-established automotive manufacturing facility in Scarborough, ON. This afternoon shift role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and hands-on work with modern manufacturing systems.

You will work with minimal supervision alongside an Electrician, making this a strong fit for a confident Millwright who can take ownership of equipment reliability and maintenance priorities.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to support safe and efficient production.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Dismantle, inspect, clean, rebuild, fabricate, and reassemble machinery and replacement parts during repairs and overhauls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Identify equipment deficiencies, recommend improvements, and support continuous reliability initiatives.
- Work safely with internal teams and contractors while following all health and safety policies and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $90,000 to $93,000 per year.
- Starting wage: $44.75 per hour.
- Wage increase to $45.00 per hour after successful completion of a 60-working-day probationary period and skills assessment.
- Shift premium: $0.25 per hour.
- Attendance bonus: $20 per week.
- Shift: Afternoon shift, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Job type: Full-time, direct hire.
- Unionized position.
- 2 weeks vacation, no flex.
- $145 per year work boot reimbursement.
- $120 every 2 years for prescription safety glasses.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment rebuilds in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Support production uptime through preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and effective fault diagnosis.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, robotic welding equipment, and mechanical systems with minimal supervision.
- Work collaboratively with an Electrician, production teams, and contractors to maintain safe and reliable operations.

- Valid 433A Industrial Millwright License is required.
- Minimum 5 years of Industrial Millwright experience is required.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi systems.
- Knowledge of robotic welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on the afternoon shift.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prior experience in an automotive parts manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting maintenance activities during equipment overhauls, rebuilds, and production downtime.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and safe work practices in a unionized manufacturing setting.
