Job Summary

We are recruiting a Red Seal Millwright for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a well-established automotive manufacturing facility in Scarborough, ON. This unionized afternoon shift role is ideal for a licensed 433A Industrial Millwright who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and supporting high-volume production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a stable opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who can work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with an Electrician and production teams. The environment offers modern manufacturing equipment, a strong focus on safety, supportive teamwork, and the opportunity to apply advanced mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC, and robotic welding troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automotive manufacturing equipment to support safe and efficient production.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC-controlled, and robotic welding systems.
- Dismantle, inspect, clean, rebuild, fabricate, and reassemble machinery and components during repairs and overhauls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and manuals to complete accurate maintenance work.
- Identify equipment deficiencies, recommend improvements, and support contractors or team members with technical guidance as required.
- Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $44.75 per hour.
- Increase to $45.00 per hour following successful completion of a 60-working-day probationary period and skills assessment.
- Shift premium: $0.25 per hour.
- Attendance bonus: $20 per week.
- Schedule: Afternoon shift, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
- Job type: Full-time, direct hire.
- Unionized position.
- 2 weeks vacation, no flex.
- $145 per year work boot reimbursement.
- $120 every 2 years for prescription safety glasses.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC-controlled, and robotic welding equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures, complete effective repairs, and support continuous improvement of machinery reliability.
- Work independently on the afternoon shift while coordinating effectively with an Electrician and production teams.

- Valid 433A Industrial Millwright License is required.
- Minimum 5 years of Industrial Millwright experience is required.
- Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial equipment repair.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi systems.
- Knowledge of robotic welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and technical drawings.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience in an automotive parts manufacturing environment.
- Experience fabricating replacement parts during maintenance activities or equipment overhauls.
- Strong background supporting equipment reliability, uptime, and safety improvements.
