AppleOne is hiring a Senior Accountant in Downtown Toronto!
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, fully in office
Salary: $80,000–$85,000 + 2 weeks vacation
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of GAAP (ASPE) and experience managing full-cycle accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with ERP systems (QuickBooks preferred) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with recording and managing financial transactions
• Prepare and post journal entries and support daily and month-end accounting activities.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, accruals, and amortizations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements and process bank deposits.
• Maintain accounting schedules such as prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Support system implementations and integrations.
• Identify opportunities for and assist with financial process improvements.
• Complete additional accounting and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity environment.
• Degree or diploma in Accounting required.
• CPA designation or working toward CPA is considered an asset.
• Experience with ERP systems required; NetSuite experience is an asset.
• Strong Excel skills (Excel testing is part of the recruitment process).
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to new systems and processes.
