Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting industrial and manufacturing facility projects. This remote role is open to candidates located anywhere in Canada and is ideal for a structural engineering professional with strong seismic design experience, steel and concrete design expertise, and familiarity with U.S. building codes.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform structural engineering analysis and design for steel and concrete structures in industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Apply wind and seismic design principles using applicable building codes and structural engineering standards.
- Prepare, review, and check structural calculations, design documentation, and technical deliverables.
- Manage assigned structural scope, including workload planning, level-of-effort forecasting, schedule commitments, and quality requirements.
- Identify scope changes, technical risks, and project needs, escalating to structural leads or project managers as appropriate.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers, drafters, and less experienced engineers.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $139,000.00 to $156,000.00 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform structural analysis and design for industrial facilities and traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Support projects involving seismic design, lateral analysis, and applicable building code requirements.
- Review engineering calculations and deliverables for quality, accuracy, and technical compliance.
- Coordinate with structural leads, project managers, designers, and engineering team members to meet scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- P.Eng designation required for senior-level consideration. EIT designation may be considered for intermediate-level opportunities.
- 6 to 10+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Seismic design experience is required.
- Experience with U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.
- Proficiency with structural engineering analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, RAM, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Strong knowledge of lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loading.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, quality control, ownership, and professional judgment.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Structural Engineer License.
- Experience in semiconductor, oil and gas, nuclear, pulp and paper, or other general industrial facilities.
- Experience leading small to medium engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Interest in advancing structural engineering workflows, systems, tools, and emerging technologies.
