Job Summary
We are hiring a Transportation Compliance Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Etobicoke, ON. This fully on-site role supports cross-border freight operations, customs compliance, transportation documentation, and supply-chain security within the travel, transportation, and logistics sector.
This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented compliance professional with 1 to 2 years of experience in a 3PL, freight brokerage, or transportation environment. You will work closely with operations and customs teams in a collaborative setting where accuracy, communication, and proactive problem-solving are valued. Key Responsibilities
- Review carrier credentials, permits, shipment documents, and cross-border procedures for accuracy and compliance.
- Support compliance with Canadian and U.S. customs, transportation, and freight regulations.
- Assist with supply-chain security programs, audits, inspections, and internal investigations.
- Document findings, maintain accurate compliance records, and track corrective actions through completion.
- Work with operations, customs, and carrier teams to identify and resolve documentation or compliance issues.
- Help promote consistent compliance practices across LTL, cross-border, and freight brokerage operations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Work arrangement: Fully on site in Etobicoke, ON.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Review transportation, carrier, customs, and shipment documentation to support compliant freight movement.
- Support cross-border freight compliance processes involving Canadian and U.S. customs requirements.
- Assist with audits, investigations, corrective actions, and supply-chain security documentation.
- Partner with operations and customs teams to resolve compliance and documentation issues.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant transportation compliance, freight brokerage, 3PL, customs, or logistics experience.
- Compliance experience in a non-asset-based 3PL or freight brokerage environment.
- Strong knowledge of LTL freight, cross-border shipping, and customs compliance processes.
- Familiarity with CBSA and CBP requirements.
- Strong documentation, recordkeeping, investigation, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, carriers, and customs partners.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple compliance tasks in a deadline-driven transportation environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Partners in Protection programs.
- Familiarity with CTPAT requirements or supply-chain security programs.
- Experience using TruckMate or similar transportation management systems.
- Previous experience supporting compliance audits, carrier reviews, or corrective action tracking.
