Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator for a direct hire opportunity in a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment. This role supports high-volume shipping, transportation, warehouse coordination, supplier pickups, customer delivery inquiries, carrier follow-up, customs documentation, and inventory transfer activity across Canada, the United States, and international markets.

The Transportation Coordinator will work closely with customer service, supply chain, finance, freight carriers, local suppliers, and two warehouse locations to ensure shipments move accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a strong opportunity for a logistics professional who enjoys a hands-on, system-intensive role with a mix of administrative coordination and warehouse floor interaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, supplier pickups, customer returns, collect shipments, warehouse transfers, and carrier pickups across multiple locations.
- Release orders for warehouse picking, manage rush and future-dated orders, support customer and sales staff pickups, and coordinate with warehouse teams on daily shipping priorities.
- Investigate and resolve transportation, warehouse, and delivery discrepancies, including overages, shortages, damages, late deliveries, missing documents, and customer shipment inquiries.
- Obtain freight quotes, transit time estimates, proof of delivery documentation, bills of lading, shipping labels, customs invoices, and bonded shipment documentation as required.
- Maintain transportation and supply chain records, update ETA information in ERP systems, create and maintain in-transit reports, and support receiving overage and shortage processes.
- Support finance and accounts payable with freight invoice review, supplier documentation, payment requests, inventory adjustment reports, credit memo requests, and shipping document management.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $50,000 to $55,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate shipping, warehouse, supplier, carrier, and customer pickup activity in a high-volume logistics environment.
- Resolve freight, warehouse, delivery, inventory, and documentation discrepancies with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and carriers.
- Manage transportation documentation, including BOLs, PODs, customs invoices, freight invoices, shipment records, and transfer paperwork.
- Support ERP updates, in-transit reporting, ETA tracking, freight cost allocation, and cross-functional supply chain communication.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant transportation, logistics, warehouse coordination, or supply chain experience required.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment as a coordinator, including interaction with warehouse staff, drivers, freight companies, and customer pickup activity.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures, shipping processes, freight carrier coordination, returns, claims, and inventory transfer workflows.
- Excellent Excel skills required.
- Experience using ERP systems is required, with Business Central experience considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with customer service, purchasing, sales, operations, finance, suppliers, carriers, and warehouses.
- Ability to prioritize competing requests in a fast-paced, system-intensive, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail, follow-up skills, problem-solving ability, and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative logistics and supply chain team.
- Must be able to follow warehouse safety practices, including wearing safety shoes when required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience coordinating shipments across Canada, the United States, and international markets.
- Experience preparing customs invoices, bonded shipment documentation, transfer documentation, and carrier claim submissions.
- Experience supporting accounts payable or finance teams with freight invoices, duty documentation, credit memo requests, and shipping record management.
- Experience coordinating trade show logistics, customer portal routing, local supplier pickups, and multi-warehouse transfers.
